Drunk police officer kills his colleague in Lagos.

Operatives of the Lagos state police command have arrested an unnamed police Sergeant for allegedly stabbing an Inspector, Francis Adekunle, to death while under the influence of alcohol over the weekend. According to The Nation reports, the Sergeant went berserk after drinking alcohol at a nearby liquor store and returned to his compound in Oke-Odo. The Sergeant reportedly picked a quarrel with one of his neighbors, and was chasing the man about with a cutlass when the Inspector, said to be attached to the Special Protection Unit (SPU) 2 Ikeja, intervened. It was in the process the Sergeant pounced on the inspector with the machete, leaving several cuts on his legs and body. The erring officer who is currently being detained at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Yaba, lives in the same compound in Oke-Odo with his deceased colleague and other tenants. Reports surrounding the incident reveal that trouble started on the evening of the previous day, when he slapped her for raining insults on him because he came too early to meet her somewhere in town. The couple had agreed to meet at 8pm, but because he closed early from work and got a lift from his boss, he got to their agreed meeting place by 7pm. FG declares June 12 public holiday.

The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 12, as public holiday to mark this year’s Democracy Day Celebration. The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government congratulated all Nigerians at home and abroad for the entrenchment of democratic rule in the country. Bishop allegedly rapes 19-year-old girl during deliverance in Delta.

Detectives from the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, Area Command in Warri, Delta State have arrested the Founder and General Overseer of the Victory Revival Fasting & Prayer Ministry, Bishop Elijah Orhonigbe for allegedly raping a nineteen-year-old girl (names withheld). The suspect is now cooling off his heels at the police cell in “A” Division, Warri. The Warri Area Commander of the Nigeria Police, ACP Mohammed Muktar Garba, in a chat with newsmen confirmed the arrest. He said the cleric was arrested following a complaint by the mother of the victim at his office. Ikpeazu speaks after testing positive for COVID-19 infection

The Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has assured the people of the state that he remains stable and in high spirit despite testing positive coronavirus infection. The Governor tested positive for the COVID-19 disease and has since gone into isolation. DAILY POST reports that John Okiyi Kalu, Commissioner for Information in the State, had confirmed this in a statement on Monday. Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu tests positive for Coronavirus

Just three months after saying that Coronavirus can’t get to Abia State because it is the only State mentioned in the Bible, governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has tested positive for COVID-19. John Okiyi Kalu, commissioner of information in the state, announced the case in a statement on Monday.
