22 doctors, 60 other health workers test positive for coronavirus in Rivers

The Rivers State Government has said that 22 doctors and 60 other health workers have tested positive for the deadly coronavirus disease in the state. The state’s chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, chairperson, Dr. Obelebra Adebiyi, made this known to newsmen in Port Harcourt on Friday. Adebiyi also appealed to the government to have a review of the hazard allowances paid to doctors employed by the state government, due to the challenges faced by the health workers in the state. According to her, the health workers fighting the virus lacked adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). She said “The number of COVID-19 cases in the state increased from 0, in less than 8 weeks, to about 450 confirmed cases with 21 deaths. Thunder kills 18 suspected kidnappers while sharing ransom in Adamawa

A thunderstorm has killed 18 suspected kidnappers at a forest in Adamawa State. Sources said the men of the underworld were sharing ransom money they got from their victims when the thunder struck them. The incident occurred within the Toungo Local Government Area of the state, local sources said. Toungo is a town and local government area in the southern part of Adamawa State on the Nigeria-Cameroon border. “The bandits, it was gathered, had collected over N20 million from their wealthy victims between Koncha in Cameroon and Toungo in Nigeria,” a source in Toungo said. According to the source, the suspected kidnappers met their end because angry victims went spiritual against them. In a recent interview, the woman revealed that she never planned to have many kids. She said she wanted only four. Speaking further, she said she could not get a good education because her father could not pay for her fees after junior secondary school 2 as he had two wives. A mum-of-two has been forced to live with her intestines protruding from her stomach after surviving a horrific gun attack. Takieyah Reaves, 32, from Newark, New Jersey, was one of three people injured in a random shooting at a nightclub in the city in July 2017.
