Nollywood actor, Brown Igboegwu has welcomed a baby girl with his wife, Igboegwu Becky Udoka, after 10 years of marriage. The actor took to his Instagram account on Wednesday morning to express the joy he felt, also recounting how he was subjected to ridicule while waiting to have a child of his own. Igboegwu said he was mocked and was even advised to take another wife or get another woman pregnant, but he turned deaf ears to the advice and waited on God. He said: “Get another wife, time no dey, age is no longer on her side, find a girl and give am belle at least, cos time waits for no one. Family, friends and colleagues of late Ibidun Ajayi-Ighodalo converged Wednesday evening to sing hymns, psalms and light candles in her honor. Ibidun, an event planner extraordinaire sadly passed away on Sunday, June 14th leaving behind her children, Zenan and Keke, and her spouse, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo. Renowned gospel artistes like Tope Alabi, Efe Nathan, Sammie Okposo, Tosin Martins, Buchi, and others rendered powerful songs at the service. An emotional moment in the service was when late Ibidun’s daughter, Zenan, also rendered a thanksgiving song at the service. Ibidun will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 20th 2020. See more photos:

22-year-old female student discovered dead inside her boyfriend’s room in Osun

A 300–level Mathematics Education female student of the Federal University of Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, identified as one Faderera Oloyede has been discovered dead in an apartment belonging to her boyfriend, Ayo Maliki, in Osun State. Faderera was found on Tuesday inside her boyfriend’s room at Koko, Iree, Osun State. She was said to have gone to her boyfriend’s place in company with her friend identified as one Kemisola Adewusi, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Lady who accused Dbanj of rape arrested by Lagos police

The police have arrested Seyitan Babatayo, who accused singer, Dapo Oyebanjo aka D’banj, of raping her at Glee hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, in 2018. Seyitan’s lawyer, Ojoge, Omileye, confirmed her arrest in an interview with Premium Times on Tuesday, June 16th, in Lagos. “They arrested Seyitan this morning in Lagos. They arrested our client but somebody is already there to facilitate her release on bail,” her lawyers revealed. “This matter is coming to Abuja by tomorrow; we are petitioning. The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) is taking up the petition tomorrow. That is all I can say about it for now,” they said. Following our earlier report of a man being arrested for making death threat directed towards Jude Okoye, the music Executive has told the police to release the young man who threatened to kill him over Cynthia Morgan’s career saga. In a new tweet he posted this morning, Jude Okoye asked the police to release the young man after he made statements, wrote an undertaking, and also apologized to him over the threatening messages he sent to him via DM on Instagram. He wrote: ‘UPDATE! He has made statements, written an undertaking and also apologized. I have asked that he be released.’ It should be recalled that several weeks ago, Cynthia Morgan called out her former manager, Jude Okoye for allegedly taking all she laboured for. Two persons died while six sustained varying degrees of injury in a ghastly motor accident in Upper-Iweka axis of Onitsha, Anambra state The accident, involving a 911 Tipper, is coming barely one week no fewer than six persons died and six injured in a similar crash in the area. Man tortures 18-month-old son with burning cigarettes in Osun

A 32-year-old driver Mayowa Adeyemo has been remanded in Ilesha Correctional Centre, for reportedly torturing his 18-month-old son with burning cigarettes. The suspect who was arraigned in court sitting in Osun State on Tuesday June 16 on two counts bothering on assault and exploitation, was accused of beating the child with a stick and burning him with a cigarette by the Police prosecutor Abiodun Fagboyinbo. The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges. “I have five children from five different mothers. Several pastors I consulted told me that my mother was the one bewitching me. I am a taxi driver but things have not been fine for me. The son I assaulted with sticks is the son that my fourth wife bore for me. “When his mother got pregnant, we got separated due to the insistence of her family that she should not marry me.” Chief Magistrate Modupe Awodele adjourned the case to July 14, after remanding Adeyemo in Ilesha Correctional Centre.

Cybercrime: US sanctions, charges 6 Nigerians for defrauding $6 million from Americans online

The Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) in a coordinated action with the U.S. Department of Justice, on Tuesday announced it had taken action against six Nigerian nationals for allegedly conducting an elaborate scheme to steal over six million dollars from vulnerable victims across the United States. The individuals designated by the State Department, targeted U.S. businesses and individuals through deceptive global threats known as business email compromise (BEC) and romance fraud. According to the State Department, American citizens lost over $6,000,000 due to these individuals’ BEC fraud schemes, in which they impersonated business executives and requested and received wire transfers from legitimate business accounts. The department listed the accused as Richard Uzuh, Michael Olorunyomi, Alex Ogunshakin, Felix Okpoh, Nnamdi Benson, and Abiola Kayode.
