Man kills wife, dumps corpse in well

The Katsina police has arrested a 40-year-old man identified as Abdulrahaman Abdulkarim, for allegedly killing his 19-year-old wife Wasila Sara and dumping her corpse inside a well.  The suspect who was paraded before newsmen on Thursday June 25, reportedly committed the offence at Madabu -Dabawa village in Dutsinma Local Government Area of the state. Katsina police command spokesperson, Gambo Isa said;  “On 14/06/2020 at about 02:00hrs, a distress call was received that one Abdulrahaman Abdulkarim, ‘m’, aged 40yrs of Madabu village, Dabawa, Dutsinma LGA of Katsina State killed his junior wife one Wasila Sada, ‘f’, aged 19years and dumped her dead body in a well. “Consequently, DPO Dutsinma led a team of detectives to the scene, recovered the body and took it to the General Hospital where it was confirmed dead by the attending physician after post mortem examination. “The suspect has been arrested and is assisting the police in their investigation. Bulldog, a Ghanaian artiste manager, has revealed what he will do if his 18-year-old daughter opens up to him that she wants to be a prostitute. Bulldog said he will not discourage her, instead, he will advise her to be a better prostitute who flies around the world. He made this known during an interview on OkayFM. When asked what makes a prostitute better, he said it's based on their target clients. Governor Godwin Obaseki emerges Edo state PDP governorship candidate

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has emerged the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the September 19 governorship election in the state. Obaseki emerged the party's candidate during the primary held at the Samuel Ogbemudia International Stadium Benin City today June 25.  His emergence came after his closest rivals in the race, Ken Imasaugbon, Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, stepped down from the race minutes into the primary election.  With Obaseki’s emergence as PDP’s candidate, the governor will face his political rival Osagie Ize-iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other candidates in the September 19 governorship election.  In 2016, Ize-iyamu was PDP’s candidate while Obaseki with the backing of his erstwhile political godfather, Adams Oshiomhole, contested under APC and won the election.

Former Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, dies at 70

Former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has died. He was 70 years old. Ajimobi who has been in a coma and on life support, died of COVID19 complications in a hospital in Lagos state today June 25.  The former governor was rumored to have died last Thursday, June 18 but his aides and family members denounced the report asking Nigerians to rather pray for his recovery.  Late Ajimobi was governor between 20011 and 2019. He is survived by his wife, Florence, and children. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

Nigerian couple celebrate 50th wedding anniversary (photos)

A Nigerian couple, Mr and Mrs Gafai, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today June 25. Their granddaughter took to Twitter to celebrate them. She posted these photos of her grandparents and wrote ''Today we celebrate the golden jubilee of my maternal grandparents; 50 years of togetherness. Dubai police release video of how they took down Hushpuppi, 11 others (Watch)

Dubai police have finally released 4mins video of how they took down Dubai-based Nigerian big boy Raymond Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, and 11 others for alleged cyber fraud. They seized in excess of $40.9 million in cash and more than a dozen luxury cars in the arrest. According to Dubai Police, the gang used to hack corporate emails and send fake emails to corporate customers to change money transfers to the gang’s personal banking accounts. During the arrest, police found a huge amount of data on individuals, companies, bank accounts, credit cards as well as documents of money laundering, online fraud and hacking accounts of victims outside the UAE. Police confiscated 21 computers, 47 smartphones, 15 memory cards, five hard disks containing 119,580 fraud files as well as addresses of nearly two million victims. WATCH VIDEO.

Tanzanian miner and father-of-30 becomes overnight millionaire after digging up huge gemstones worth $3.35 million (Photos)

A Tanzanian miner and father-of-30 has become a millionaire overnight after he discovered two huge gemstones worth £2.4million. The government handed Saniniu Laizer a cheque for 7.74 billion Tanzanian shillings (£2.4million) for the two dark violet-blue stones, each about the size of a forearm, during a trading event in the northern region of Manyara yesterday. Laizer discovered the chunks in one of the tanzanite mines in the north of the country which are surrounded by a wall to control cross-border smuggling of the valuable mineral. ‘There will be a big party tomorrow,’ Laizer, who has four wives and 30 children, told the BBC. The 52-year-old said that he would slaughter a cow to celebrate his good fortune. Bowen University sacks over 100 workers; says decision is necessary to sustain school

The Coronavirus pandemic has continued to affect the country's economy, leading to mass retrenchment. Bowen University has now joined the growing list of organizations downsizing to stay afloat.  According to reports, the private university located at Iwo in Osun State, sacked over 100 workers on Tuesday, June 23. It was gathered that the sacked staffers received their letters of disengagement through email late on Tuesday.  One of the affected staff said the school claimed that the economic crisis caused by COVID-19 pandemic was the reason for the retrenchment. BBNaija's Cee-C speaks up following accident; confirms one person was injured

Cynthia "Cee-C" Nwadiora, has finally broken her silence on the car accident she was involved in on Wednesday, June 24.  The former Big Brother Naija housemate's car suffered a brake failure along the New Haven road in Enugu state.  A video showing the aftermath of the accident has since gone viral.
