Voice note from Olamide Alli before she was killed by fiancé Chris Ndukwe shows her voicing her concerns to a friend about marrying him

The late Olamide Alli, who was murdered by her fiancé, Chris Ndukwe, had concerns about marrying him and she voiced those concerns to friends in a voice note that has now been made public. In the VN from 2018, Olamide told the friend that her wedding to Chris has been scheduled for October of that year, however, she wasn't sure she wanted to get married to him.  She said they've known each other for years and they have two kids together, but she doesn't want kids to be the only reason she's getting married.  Explaining why she's having second thoughts about marrying Chris, Olamide said she isn't sure they know each other well enough.  The wedding didn't hold again in October 2018. It was postponed to August 2020. BET Awards 2020: Burna Boy wins Best International Act for the second consecutive year (Video)

Burna Boy has won the Best International Act for the second consecutive year, becoming the first Nigerian artiste to win the BET Awards back to back.  The Nigerian singer floored Innoss’B (DRC), Sho Madjozi (South Africa), Dave (UK), Stormzy (UK), Ninho (France), and S.Pri Noir (France) to scoop the gong at the first-ever virtual BET Awards which held on Sunday night.  British supermodel, Naomi Campbell presented the Best International Act award to Burna Boy, who gave his acceptance speech virtually due to the Coronavirus pandemic.  In his acceptance speech, the singer said: "I'll like to use this opportunity to say that sometime around 1835, there was a mission to turn Africa into a dominated nation." The BET Awards, which honor Black excellence in entertainment and sports, held its first-ever virtual ceremony on Sunday night due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.  The event, hosted by former Real co-host Amanda Seales was also the 20th-anniversary of BET. Daddy Freeze reacts to the lack of social distancing at Abiola Ajimobi's funeral (video)

Daddy Freeze has questioned why Funke Akindele and Naira Marley were sanctioned for breaking social distancing guidelines, whereas the crowd at Abiola Ajimobi's funeral were allowed to get away with doing same. Florence, widow of former Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi has slammed Governor Seyi Makinde over the way she and her husband were treated during his sickness and after his demise. Ajimobi's widow who spoke while receiving a delegation of Governors who were at their Oluyole residence to commiserate with her family, accused Seyi Makinde's administration of playing "dirty politics" with her husband's death. Salesman arrested for defiling his employer's twin daughters left in his care

26-year-old Chinedu Obi, pictured above, has been arrested by men of the Lagos state police command for defiling his employer's 12-year-old twin daughters.  A statement from the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, Bala Elkana, says on June 16, a woman in her mid-thirties (name withheld) reported at Aguda Police Station that her salesman, Chinedu, had sexual intercourse with her 12-year-old twin daughters (names withheld) when she left the two girls with him in her house.  The suspect was arrested and he reportedly confessed to committing the crime. Bala in the statement said the suspect said he started having sexual intercourse with the girls in 2019.  The statement adds that the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu psc has ordered the transfer of the case to the Gender Unit, State Headquarters, Ikeja for discreet investigation and diligent prosecution.  The Commissioner advised parents not to trust anyone with their kids, especially female children. Kogi chief judge dies at Coronavirus isolation centre

The Chief Judge of Kogi State, Nasir Ajanah is reportedly dead. TheCable reported that a member of the late Judge's family who confirmed his death on Sunday morning, said he died at the COVID-19 isolation centre in Gwagwalada, Abuja. Ajanah died a week after the death of Ibrahim Shaibu Atadoga, the president of the Kogi customary court of appeal was reported.  The late Judge who died at the age of 64, served in various capacities such as chairman, Kabba disturbance tribunal, Kogi, (1994); chairman, election petitions tribunal in Adamawa state (1998); member of governing council of Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (1999 and 2006) and chairman, panel on Murtala Mohammed international airport fire incident (2000). It was further learnt that he will be buried in Abuja on Sunday June 28.

Former Governor Abiola Ajimobi laid to rest in Ibadan (photos)

The remains of former Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has been laid to rest in Ibadan, Oyo state today Sunday, June 27. The former governor who died on Thursday, June 25 in Lagos from COVID19 complications, was buried at his 6th Avenue, Yemoja Street, Oluyole Estate residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, according to Islamic injunction. The funeral which was conducted in line with NCDC guidelines for the burial of COVID19 patients, was attended by his wife Florence Ajimobi and other members of his family, all not more than 20 in number. Prayers would be held for his repose at the Senator Ishaq Abiola Ajimobi Mosque, Oke-Ado, Ibadan at about 12 noon. Suspected cultists allegedly abduct 20 year old girl in Bauchi; tell her father they only need her virginity and not his money

Suspected cultists have abducted Patience Emmanuel, a 20-year-old Pharmacology student at the Bauchi State University, and informed her father that all they need is her "virginity" and not his money. Narrating his ordeal to newsmen, Mr. Emmanuel Kushi, who is a civil servant, said his daughter whom he described as a well-behaved girl, left his younger brother's house in Rafin Zurfi in the state on Wednesday, June 24, with the intention of coming to pick up something from his home. Mother of two rescued after failed suicide attempt

The quick intervention of neighbors on Thursday, June 25, saved a mother of two, Mrs Bukola Agboola, who attempted to commit suicide in the Abule-Egba area of Lagos state.  According to Vanguard, the victim who resides at Number 2 Kuburat Lawal street in Abule Egba, drank sniper and was waiting to die when she was found and rescued. She was rushed to a hospital where doctors were able to stabilize her.  Recounting her ordeal on her sickbed, Bukola said she decided to end her life over the constant physical and emotional abuse her husband, Mr Wasiu Agboola, has allegedly subjected her to over the years.
