Famous Nollywood actor, Mike Ezuruonye has shared an epic throwback photo of himself as he mocks his old looks and thanks God for grace. The Nigerian actor shared this photo yesterday July 10 on his official Instagram page. Starting off with a sense of humour, the handsome thespian pleaded with his followers not to laugh at his old looks except they’re ready to post theirs too. He then took time to question the size of his head and his shirt. “See my head, see my shirt, chai..!”, he exclaimed. Man rescues an abandoned baby while 'other people were busy taking pictures'

A Nigerian man, Mathew Oabode, has recounted how he saved the life of an abandoned baby while many people who spotted the child before his arrival were busy taking photos of the baby. Mathew who shared the story on his Twitter handle, @Matoosa, said he had just returned from the hospital where his wife had just put to bed when he was alerted that a baby was dumped somewhere. He rushed there and met a small crowd taking photos of the abandoned baby. He said he quickly took the child to the hospital for medical attention. Arowolo Olamide Temitope, a Nigerian lady who was barred from boarding an evacuation flight to Nigeria by the Lebanese airport management after receiving orders from her employer in Lebanon, has finally arrived Nigeria. Arowolo who was evacuated from Lebanon by the Federal Government on Saturday July 11, narrated her ordeal while in Lebanon, warning young Nigerian girls against travelling abroad. Arowolo, 31, was among 19 other victims on who were received by officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Affairs at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport In Abuja, today. Man shares outrageous list given to him by his wife’s family for his father-in-law’s burial

A Nigerian man who recently lost his father-in-law to the cold hands of death has shared the outrageous list imposed on him by his wife’s family. Mr Nathaniel Umoh, who doubles as the first son-in-law to his wife’s family, was asked to bring one live cow, alongside some other numerous items as his own contribution for the burial of his father-in-law. Other items listed include; 2 goats, 1 bag of rice, 10 tubers of yam, 4 litres of Ufobob, 5 bottles of assorted hot drinks, 20 litres of palm wine, 10 cartons of beer, 10 crates of soft drink, and lots more. One person has been confirmed dead and six others have been rescued after a three-storey building collapsed at number 20 Freeman street in Lagos Island in the early hours of Saturday, July 11. The occupants were fast asleep when the building c ollapsed. Men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA, National Emergency Management Agency, Lagos State Ministry of Physical Planning, Lagos State Ambulance Services (LASSMBUS) and many others have arrived the scene of the incident.  Six persons have been rescued from the rubbles and are currently receiving medical attention while the body of a young boy has been recovered from the rumbles and deposited in a morgue. “Nine to 10 people are suggested to be living in the building. Efforts are on to rescue the remaining people,” said Southwest Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Ibrahim Farinloye.

A deaconess has been arrested after she allegedly subjected her ward to a series of brutal torture that has shocked Nigerians. The 14-year-old girl named Princess lived with her parents in Kaduna until they were displaced by bandits following an attack on their community. As a result, Princess' parents had to place their daughter in the home of Mrs. Iyema Oyemola Oyewole, a deaconess of Living Faith Church in Barnawa, as they didn't want her to be homeless. While at the deaconess' home, Princess was allegedly subjected to torture from the deaconess and from her children while the husband allegedly turned a blind eye. Man found guilty of stabbing his heavily pregnant ex-girlfriend 21 times, killing her and their baby

A man has been found guilty of stabbing his heavily pregnant ex-girlfriend in a jealous rage, killing her and their baby. Aaron McKenzie, 26, of Peckham, south London, broke into Kelly-Mary Fauvrelle’s bedroom in the middle of the night and stabbed her 21 times as her family slept upstairs, the Old Bailey heard. According to reports, Fauvrelle was rushed to the hospital after the incident. The baby, Riley was delivered by Caesarean section in an attempt to save his life, but died in the hospital four days later. The tragic attack occurred in June 2019. The prosecution alleged McKenzie had killed Miss Fauvrelle, 26, in a “vicious and cowardly” attack after their “toxic” relationship ended and she moved on. The defendant denied it, claiming a man named Mike, who his pregnant ex owed money to, was responsible for her death. On Friday, July 10, a jury found McKenzie guilty of murdering 33 weeks pregnant Miss Fauvrelle, the manslaughter of baby Riley and possession of a knife. M

House of Representatives faults FG's decision to cancel WASSCE examination

The House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education and Services has faulted the Federal government's decision to cancel the 2019/2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination WASSCE due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Recall that the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, had on July 6 announced that the examination, which was earlier scheduled for April this year but postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, will now hold from August 4 to September 5. However, after the virtual Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, July 8, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, announced a reversal of that decision. He said Nigerian schools will not reopen any time soon “until it is safe to do so because of the COVID-19 pandemic”. According to him, final year students preparing for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) will not be allowed to return to school contrary to the earlier announcement.
